Regarding intuitiveness, it's tough to objectively say that one is more intuitive than the other unless you've never used a computer before. You have a prejudice for where things should be from using Windows, as we do from using Macs. You expect things to work the way they do in Windows, and if it doesn't, it's "not intuitive" to you, not necessarily to other people.
I was drawn to this forum because I am interested in computers generally and macs almost qualify.....but seriously I poked around on a mac for about an hour today, and found that some things are less intuitive (minimizing and closing windows). Also I found that some things easily accessible in windows are not accessible at all in mac OSX. I felt like the computer was "dumbed down" for me. I am mad at apple, their processors suck right now... not to mention their price. Im not gunna spend 3,000 for a computer that I could get with -yes - a worse os, for 1,000. Macs just arent worth it right now. Until they have something that can compete speed wise, my next comp is a PC.

Slightly concerned that some services appear to be either missing altogether or lacking in functionality.
Hopefully we'll see them appear before the final version appears. It seems from the look of those screenshots that a lot of stuff has been re-written from the ground up.

I can't help but think that along with Steve's various email responses to customers, that Steve is morphing. Into what exactly, I'm not sure, but he seems to be more interested in responding to people. Maybe that new liver has something to do with it? At any rate, it's a very calculated move. Nothing he does is without a goal in mind.

Strange question: can you use the Firmware Restoration CD to update your firmware? This disc is designed to fix a bad update from CD, bypassing the hard disk and the RAID array. Seems to me that it should work, in theory.

Honda has been building cars in Ohio at least since the early '90s. Had a '93 Civic built in East Liberty or Marysville... can't remember which. Sadly, the Fits (I actually own an '09) come from Japan.

Oooh... looks like we have the faux small-government types coming in! If you're worried about wasting of money, keep in mind that your government spends way more money on propaganda launched at you and empire-building than it does on the federal trade commission.
Why should they even spend money on empire-building or the FTC?
In addition, you might read up on this and see that this is really douchebag behavior we're talking about where a publisher has a "free" game for kids and then charges $100 multiple times for "smurfberries". That's pretty slimy behavior. The intention is to get a child who doesn't understand it's not play money to have their parents download the app and put in their password, then use the 15-minute window to rob the parents. The parents are thinking this is some harmless game until they get the bill.
The main problem I have with this statement is that it absolves parents of responsibility. If a parent is going to give a child a several hundred dollar iDevice and do not spend a small amount of time understanding how apps work, then shame on them. Ignorance is no reason for a government investigation and possible future regulation in this area. Furthermore, if this truly was an extremely large problem, the free market would sort it out. If parent are outraged from this type of behavior they would not allow their children to purchase these apps and the company would change their tactics. It's simple really. However, it goes back again to proper parenting.
I would call this bad parenting if it didn't involve trickery. Do you really expect a child to understand the difference between play money and real money?

My experience getting my wisdom teeth out was much the same as everyone has described. The weirdest part has got to be how you don't feel the passage of time at all from the moment you are sitting on the chair and lose consciousness, and the next moment when you're lying down in the recovery room.
Normally when you sleep you are still somehow aware of how much time you have been asleep... you can wake up at 3:00am and realize you haven't slept very long, or you can wake up at noon and realize you've way overslept. Not so when they have you under.
It actually made me really appreciate the power (and danger) of date rape drugs... if this is what happens, you really wouldn't be aware of anything.

If you buy .Mac, you pay mainly for the integration with Apple's iLife applications.
Actually, I pay for the IMAP service and automatic syncing of my contacts, datebook, bookmarks, etc. across both my Macs with an automatic online backup and a web-accessible copy. I am glad to get these services all from one integrated source...in this case from Apple.
I have a Google account too, but Google does not offer Mac users what .Mac offers. I've got nothing against people choosing not to pay for or use .Mac, but I am really tired of people miscasting .Mac as being much more limited than it actually is to get others to see things their way.
If you want the services that .Mac offers, you can get it for anywhere from $45 to $79 per year, or about $3.75 to $6.50 per month. For me, that's a bargain. For others, it may admittedly not be worth it.

Australian dollars, I thought AMD just so I could afford a better GPU, maybe even a GTX285. Is ATI going to get better by a lot? I have only looked at Nvidea because of folding. I will use the rig for light gaming but would love to play WOW on High and any current games at Med with 1080 res.

The .mac mail has been an embarrassment to Apple for some time. Ugly as sin and very limited. Strange, but Comcast updated their webmail interface this week also. The one feature I wish that Apple would add (unless I've missed it) is a button for "report as spam." I get more spam from my .mac account than from my Comcast account; with Comcast, you can report it and have the sender blocked.

Apple must have a 5 GHz chip lying around somewhere. I bet Motorola has produced at least one or two by luck in some of their production runs. Apple should slap them into a Mac and sell it for $100,000 just to say Macs are the fastest. Some rich people would love to have the fastest Mac around.
