As suggested by pappu/starsun, this supporting thread provides impacted members with additional information and tools to help the initiative.

As pappu stated in the first post of the above referenced thread - some of the ongoing efforts include finding how many IV members would get benefit from such a provision and get basic details such as username/Priority Date of impacted members. Future action items might include drafting documents and letters to support this provision. There maybe actions such as sending emails etc. However we would not be able to open a public action item unless we can have thousands of our members willing to participate in a grassroots action item. This survey intends to understand the needs of our membership for this provision and collect grassroots information.
The fact is we have a dedicated group of volunteers (and we need more) who have been trying their best to spread the message about this initiative so that a strong grass-roots support can be created leading up to launch of the public action items. So far we have around 1100 people who have responded. Based on quick calculations carried out using PERM data, it is estimated that there are at least 60K-70K EB applicants waiting to file I-485/EAD/AP (this is a very conservative estimate..the actual number could be much more). Grass-roots initiatives require time and patience and we request maximum number of impacted folks to participate actively.

Hi,
I finished my six years of H1B in August 2008. I filed my I140 with concurrent filing in July 2007. I also received my EAD card (pending I140) but I never used it. The time has come to renew my H1B for the upcoming year. My employer filed I129, which was approved by USCIS. Now my employer is asking me to renew the EAD but I don't want to spend the money. Do I have to have the EAD with my H1B? What do you guys think?

Here is my situation. greatly aprecite if you could give some suggestions.
I am presently on Non-cap H1b(which is not counted under cap). I am planning to file for H1b thru an employer in april under MS quota with a start date of octber 2008.
My concerns are...
1. How should the new employer file H1b so that I can join at my wish after oct 2008...??
2. My present H1b is valid untill 2010. SHould I be in US while filing and untill my new H1b is approved..??? I ahve plans of visisitng india in March/aprial. So wondering If i need to visit and be back before april or is it ok to travel while my new H1b is filed using the presnet i-94..?? that is trvelling sometime In april/May..???

Yes it is pretty much recognised for h1b purpose or for any other purpose whatsoever. I got my first h1b approval on the basis of my MBA from IGNOU.

If you want to retain your priority date your I 140 should be approved from your old employer, else you need to start from scratch again.

Hi All,
My H1B(8+ year) is expiring, and my company is willing to file H1B with Engg manager role. My previous H1B or extension was files for software engineer. My GC(EB2) is filed as Software engineer, with PD as Jan 2006.
Questions
1) Now is it ok to file H1B with new title? What if H1B gets rejected?
2) How does this title change affect GC? Can the GC be cancelled because the title has changed or H1B gets rejected? The engg manager role is similar to software engneer role, except people responsiblities.
3) If the H1B gets accepted, then is there still a danger to GC? Do they verify GC papers before approving H1B?

Hello All,
My checks got deposited on Friday and when I checked my wife's I 485 status with the LIN # on the back of the check, it said that the finger printing fee was rejected and that the case is now in suspense.
It said that I have to submit a new fee and that the case will be resumed again.
Do you know why this happened. My bank statement says that the finger printing check for her got deposited.
So if there is a mistake in the check, would they still deposit it ? And would her EAD application get processed even if the finger printing fee is wrong ?
Did this happen for anyone ?
